Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. The scenic drive will take you through picturesque landscapes, winding along rivers and valleys, providing an introduction to Bhutan’s natural beauty. You’ll pass by traditional houses and small villages, getting a glimpse into Bhutanese life. Once in Thimphu, check-in at your hotel and enjoy a delightful Bhutanese meal. The evening will offer an opportunity to relax and explore the local surroundings before dinner.

Your day will begin with a wholesome breakfast, followed by a full day of sightseeing in Thimphu. You will visit prominent landmarks such as the Tashichho Dzong, the National Memorial Chorten, and the Buddha Dordenma statue, which offers spectacular views of the valley. In the afternoon, explore local markets and traditional Bhutanese handicrafts. Bhutan’s rich culture and heritage will be evident throughout the day, as you discover the unique blend of tradition and modernity in Thimphu. A traditional Bhutanese dinner will cap off your day.

After breakfast, you will depart Thimphu for the beautiful Punakha Valley, a three-hour drive through winding mountain roads, scenic landscapes, and rural Bhutanese villages. On the way, you will stop at Dochula Pass, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Upon arrival in Punakha, you will explore the Punakha Dzong, one of the most picturesque and historically significant fortresses in Bhutan. The day will conclude with a relaxing dinner, soaking in the tranquil surroundings of the valley.

Today, you will journey back to Paro via Thimphu, covering a distance of 140 kilometers. The drive takes you through beautiful countryside, with opportunities to stop and enjoy the stunning scenery. Upon reaching Thimphu, take a short break before continuing to Paro. In Paro, you will have time to unwind at your hotel and enjoy a traditional Bhutanese dinner. The evening is perfect for exploring the picturesque town, famous for its traditional buildings and beautiful landscapes, making it an ideal place to reflect on the experiences of the past few days.

Your full day in Paro will be spent visiting some of the most iconic sights in Bhutan. Begin with a visit to the Paro Taktsang, also known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched on a cliffside high above the valley. The trek up offers stunning views and a deep sense of Bhutanese spirituality. Afterward, visit the National Museum and the Paro Rinpung Dzong, an architectural marvel. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing dinner while soaking in the serene atmosphere of this charming town.

After a final breakfast in Paro, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some time to enjoy a leisurely walk around the town, or simply reflect on the wonderful experiences of your Bhutanese journey. This will mark the end of your memorable trip to Bhutan, leaving you with beautiful memories of the country’s culture, traditions, and landscapes.

  • We have daily departures for this trip from March to May and from mid-September to mid-December. You can type in the number of passengers to book a reservation and select a date that is convenient for you. Due to group size, we never cancel a trip once you’ve made a reservation. If you would rather join the group, we will add more travelers on the selected date. You can let us know once you make a reservation or earlier.
