Embark on the Royal Britain Peak Adventure, a 16-day journey where high-altitude excitement meets cultural discovery. Declared by the Mahakulung Rural Municipal Council in 2021, the Royal Britain Peak honors the significant contributions of New Futures Nepal, a UK-based nonprofit. Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport, you’ll be greeted warmly and transfer to your hotel, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, allowing you to relax and acclimatize. Experience the vibrant atmosphere of the capital city and its unique blend of traditional culture and modernity.

Begin your journey with an early morning jeep ride from Kathmandu to Pattale. The drive offers a scenic stop at Dhulikhel for stunning views of the Gauri Shankar mountain range. The route then descends and follows the beautiful Sunkhoshi river until Ghurmi. The route crosses many rivers and after Ghurmi winds its way uphill through several stunning regions and including Olkhadunga until reaching Pattale. Pattale is a lovely Sherpa community of mountaineers. The journey offers a chance to see the beautiful area of the middle hills of Nepal as we work out way to the lower Everest region.

We begin our trek to the Sherpa village of Boksuwar, located east of Chheskam across the Hongu River. The walk starts with a fairly level path to Chhemsi, followed by a short steep descent to the river. We cross the Hongu River via a bridge before ascending to Boksem, where we pause to take in the stunning landscape. Continuing our ascent for a few more hours, we reach the beautiful Sherpa village of Boksuwar. The trek offers a scenic journey through Chhemsi, crossing the river, and passing through fields of mustard and buckwheat crops, with breathtaking views of the Mahakulung landscape. We end the day camping under the stars, offering a chance to immerse in the Sherpa culture and way of life.

Today, we leave behind the bamboo and alpine forests, transitioning to expansive pasturelands with breathtaking, panoramic views in every direction. The scenery is truly stunning, offering a feast for the eyes. On our way to the Base Camp, we pass the Gaubitta shrine, a revered religious site for the Kulung people, adding a spiritual dimension to the journey.
